Don't forget when Messr's Kleinsinger and Tripp wrote this piece. I don't remember the date, but in those days no one "ever heard a tuba play a melody before".

The prior comment about it being a children's piece to intro the different instruments in the orchestra/band is also very true.

We call it playing music, because its supposed to be FUN. So play it the best you can and have fun with it.

By the way, Tommy Johnson thought it a serious enough piece to record at least twice. Once for Disney with Annette Funicello and more recently with Manhattan Transfer (a pretty sreious bunch of vocalists).
