I use a SM4 for my Besson Sovereign Euphonium, I found the SM3 too big (the cup) and couldn't get the higher register very well. The SM4 is quite small and seems to suite me OK although the rim is quite narrow and can hurt after a while! I also have a Denis Wick 5AL with a slightly wider rim and Stephen Mead mouthpiece with this rim and the SM4 cup size would be fantastic. I did however use my SM4 in my Mirafone Euphonium and the tone wasn't as good as the original Mirafone mouthpiece. I think they just suit the Bessons as thats what they were designed for.
