Drew University - lacated in Madison, New Jersey, had agreed to host a one-week only Brass Quintet Camp as part of Drew SummerMusic. Here are the particulars:
1. Open to all high school age brass players (and early college as well). Unlike the Atlantic Brass Seminar in Buffalo, which I heartily endorse, this Camp will focus on the younger, less experienced musician. You will receive coaching from world class brass players and have the opportunity to take private lessons as well. The week will end with a
gala concert, where all the groups will perform.
2. Dates - JUNE 22nd, Saturday to JUNE 29th, Sunday
3. Coaching Staff: Donald Batchelder, newly appointed Principal Trumpet w/New York City Opera, Trumpet Professor at Montclair State University; Max Morden, founder of Distinctly Brass and "first call" Broadway musician as well as several other area orchestras; Tony Cecere, Third Horn w/New Jersey Symphony Orchestra as well as Principal Horn w/ Bach Choir of Bethlehem, member of Broadway pit for "Beauty and the Beast"; Vernon Post, Second Trombone w/New Jersey Symphony Orchestra as well as many top free lance orchestras in Tri-State area; Scott Mendoker, Professor of Tuba and Euphonium and Director of Chamber Music Studies at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, etc.....also Director of the Brass Institute at Drew SummerMusic.
