I think this is the most workable answer of the ones I've seen. It is very worthwhile for you to be able to go back and forth between BBb and CC tubas, and you can learn to do this now, in your senior year of high school, when you are not under the pressure you will be under in college. I'm doing the same thing right now, learning Eb tuba fingerings when what I really know is F fingerings. It's been confusing but I think I'll be better off in the long run.

If you don't want to do that, i.e., learn to play well with both sets of fingerings, then I suggest you ask your band director to let you bring your CC once to a rehearsal so he can hear how it sounds. And then be really sure that you sound as good on it as you do on the BBb. I can't imagine a band dirctor not allowing you to do that, unless he is a compleat donkey.
