I'm finishing a degree at UM now. I've visited plenty of schools and had lessons all over the country. this is one of the very best educational situations there is. if you think of both the musical education from the school of music and the life education from this amazing university and town, it may well be the best all-around school for many types of people.
also, UM is one of the schools where a great many alumni wind up with good gigs.
