When I was in school one of my colleagues was Don Harry. He has it down. I figured that if he could do it, so could I. (Even though I never had a formal lesson with Don, I consider him my greatest teacher). I'm not nearly as proficient as he is, but I use the technique all the time. It's so much a part of my playing that I don't even think about using it. It's great for me because I am not a large person. My lung capacity is just over 4 liters. Sustaining and finishing a phrase can be much more satisfying if you can use that little extra from circular breathing.
