Thanks, I didn't know about Jarno taper. I always love the way those Morse taper specs are divided out to the hundred-thousanth of an inch- you're lucky if a reamer you buy is even close to correct, not to mention the hole that it reams. If you divide the Morse 1 through Morse 3 specs (taper per foot) by 12, you'll see that they are all within a couple thousanths of .050. Since the Morse tapers are all specific sizes, rather than specific tapers, they're not particularly useful for our purposes anyway. They're made to be mountings for machine tools. In my experience, many remers and tools that are on the market are not all that close to the theoretically correct measurements.
