yes and no. I was a professional violinist, for a while. I found I really, really disliked playing violin in an orchestra, period. It was only years after I officially quit violin that I learned to love playing it. I took up horn at age 45, and applied that learning to it. I still got really frustrated the first few years. Now I'm at the point where I can almost always enjoy it, and I know better to force practicing if my body isn't up to it. I still hate playing violin in an orchestra, and I just love playing horn in the very same orchestra. Go figure, eh? (I think it's because violinists are competetive squirrely people, while horn player are cooperative nice people, who get to sit in the back and make fun of the violins.)
