The best reason to purchase an instrument always has to be based on most, if not all, of the following reasons: tone quality, intonation, evenness of scale, how it fits your hand, size, ensemble it will be used in, weight, cost, want, need. If your choice is a "no name" that fits the bill, then you should buy it. If, on the other hand, your choice is a well known brand, then that's what you should buy.
We should purchase an instrument to use and not care what anyone else thinks as long as we satisfy the above criteria. Just my opinion.
