Why not go for the more handy 2 component solution of using a standard sousa case for the body and a custom "stubbed pyramide" flight case for the bell? It will take one more hand to carry, but then you will not need extra bags, as all clothing and so on can be stuffed in the cases.

If you do not like the sousa case idea, the body of your helicon is so flat, that you can make a rectangular or semicircular flightcase for it.

The overall benefit would be, that you can use materials and reinforcements, that are much stronger and much less flexible than is fiberglass. A good thing, when it comes to insurance claims.

And anyway the shapes will be much more storage friendly than the decapitated, legless, and pregnant fiberglass camel, that you are planning.
