to all. Those "big" unknowns (now known) alert me to the certainty of dozens of smaller still "unknowns" which let me know that I should go ahead and rely on my laminated wood bending skills...or hire my aluminum wizard buddy to do this. (wood, I think)

Though this isn't of particular interest, this case will look like a trapezoid from the end view and a "flat tire" (bell flare on the bottom and bell stack spanning the body) from the size view. That's the only way to accomodate a detachable bell helicon with a long bell, and put it into a box that could still fit in the back seat or trunk of a car.
