I recently bought a new King 2341, and the receiver seems to be between the small American size and the larger European size. Several of my mouthpieces bottom out before they seat, and my large-shank Schilke-Helleberg II sticks out pretty far. The UMI 2 that came with the horn fits perfectly, but my only other mouthpiece that seems to fit right is an ancient Mt. Vernon Bach 18 that comes within a millimeter of bottoming out. I really want to use some of my older mouthpieces, particularly my Dillon G3, without having to buy new ones or having them rebuilt.
The one adapter that was sent to me is just a hair too short or too thin. Does anyone know of a source of mouthpiece adapters in different sizes? I can find them on the Web for other brass, but not for tuba.
