I was just reading stories to my young kids as part of the regular bedtime routine and I thought of how much fun it is to share tuba-related items with them. Most of you have seen the Claymation "Tubby the Tuba," and I won't embarrass myself (too much) by identifying all the Warner Bros. cartoons I know that contain fun references to the tuba (but you must check out "Long Haired Hare" for the "When Yuba does the Rhumba on the Tuba" quote).
The book I was reading to my kids was "Little Boy With a Big Horn," a delightful book originally published as part of the Little Golden Book series in 1950, in which the little boy and his bass horn are both heroes. When they were very young, the kids also enjoyed "Gorilla in the Band."
Anyone else have some favorite literature/video references to our noble instrument?
