Hi Angela, let me say that my research and experience leads me to believe that the mouthpiece is just as important as the tuba. It is the link that connects you, the player, to the bunch of coiled plumbing we call a tuba. It is the liason between musician and metal. Without a mpc, you can't play a tuba. With the right mpc, nothing can stop you!
Follow this link and read up a little about mouthpieces in general, and then look at the different ones they have at the web-sites listed here at Tube Net. Your best bet is to try out a bunch of different ones, big ones, small ones, deep and shallow, and decide what feels best for you, and which one matches your instrument best, too.
