Hey Randy, we played CMTC on Okinawa in the early 90's, I guess some things never change! I don't feel very romantic about the tubas I used in concert band and brass quintet, but they had a sweet neck-through-body Ibanez bass that I really miss.
I've heard stories of "Iron Mike", from some old salties (no offense!)who played under him. Top (MGySgt) Harris was my EBL in New Orleans, apparently the most highly decorated Marine left in the band field at the time. He was so tough, looked like he was sewn together from old combat boots! The term "Leather Neck" was taken literally with him!
