The MW25 is probably one of the darkest especially for it's size. Maybe for the 4/4 size the darkest, but the big old 6/4 Holtons and especially the Yorks are even darker sounding, and a different type of dark sound at that, wich is a little rounder, mellower and a little more diffuse, where the Meinl is more compact and denser(heavier)sounding.
