BTW, go for the Miata too! Perhaps you can find an inexpensive used example of each. I have one of those on my short list too!
I do not know where you live but if you are in the east try to get to Dillons in NJ or Baltimore Brassworks. Both places are run by incredibly knowledgable and extremely nice people, who won't pressure you into buying something you don't really want.
