Rick, I have seen you more verbose :), but I agree with most of your comments. I am a rank amateur who just happens to enjoy playing and collecting instruments. I am a member of ITEA(TUBA) because I do enjoy the journal. Many of the articles are at a superficial level, but I have learned a number of things from various issues, both in the form of playing tips and historical information. The cost of membership is so minimal that it doesn't take much content to be worth the price.
I think that your other comments are good, constructive, suggestions that would make for a stronger organization, whatever it is called.
