If you think that's weird, try this: I was walking with Ron after a VPO rehearsal (Miraculous Mandarin, with Zubin Mehta conducting). As we were leaving a U-bahn station, some local Viennese character starts giving Ron a real bad time (in German, of course) for not wearing a tie in public! This was early 1981.
