I have both H&B models (206 & 208) and I hardly ever use the smaller one. I use it only with my Cervany 641 Eb which has a very small bell. I've found with the H&B mutes that they sound somewhat better if they aren't closing off the bell opening so much. On my Nirschl York, which has a very large bell and especially large bell throat, the mutes goes in too far for my tastes and it makes the sound somewhat stuffy. I'm building some add-on corks for use with the Nirschl. My advice would be to try the 208 with your horn and see if the mute seems stable in the bell, as in it is not about to fall over. If so, it's probably in far enough and will sound fine. Good luck!

My opinion for what it's worth...
