Actually, the Nirschl 6/4 York copy is priced new at around $14,500.00. However, you're dead right about the desirability of a 4/4 model. I can't imagine using the 6/4 Nirschl I own on major solo repertoire, like say the Kraft. It's a great horn but there are limits. If a 6/4 horn is absolutely what you're looking for, I don't think you'll find a better one. At least I didn't, which is why I own one. I agree that a good Rudy 3/4 or 4/4 is an excellent choice for an all around horn.
