Here are a few pictures of 1860's horns, front action but rotary, just thought you might get a kick out of seeing them. The last one is a picture of a teardrop Eb made my louis Schrieber in the late 1860's. The 4th valve you see is acting as a spit valve, all others of this period didn't have any.
