A well-known tuba/picc duet is the Boa Constrictor and The Bobolink by a composer who's last name is Italian and starts with M (someone help me out?). I played it with a flute friend awhile ago and it got a pretty nice crowd reaction. You can also get some classical period duets for violin and cello or clarinet/oboe and bassoon and play them as a duet with your flute or horn duet partner (although the hornist would have to transpose to concert pitch).
