I will be taking my horn in for servicing in a few weeks. Never having a horn to service before, this is my first experience. The horn is 30 years old,a 4v BBb rotary East German stencil (Sonora brand, which is a stencil of B&S, I think).

To my knowledge, the horn has not been professionally serviced in many years,if ever. The slides and valves all move freely, but there are a few dents in the leadpipe just as it enters the first valve.

So, what should I expect in the way of servicing? I was thinking of a chemical bath, having the rotars pulled, cleaned and adjusted, having the water key cork replaced, and having the leadpipe dents removed. The bumpers would be replaced. The springs are probably original. Should these be replaced? What is the life expectancy of external
springs?

Anything else I should discuss with the service pro?

Thanks for your input.
