I used this tuba last year, the 70's model, in Japan, and it depends what you like, but this is the most stuffy tuba I ever played. It's stuffier than any other MW tuba, and maybe stuffier than F tubas. It certainly projects a whole bunch for a good size 4/4 tuba in a hall setting. The 5th valve slide tube is a little awkward. Nice heavy metal. Other than that, it's a pretty decent horn.
