One other question: if I'm asked to play for a performance, for fee or for free, do I have any liability for whether the royalties are paid? If there is one person responsible for seeing that this is done (i.e. one guy they'd come after), who is it? For example, at my church I direct a small brass ensemble. The pastor is the 'CEO' of the church, the music director is responsible for choosing and scheduling music, and I'm the guy who counts us off. Are we equally culpable, just some one of us, or is the church itself? Thanks again.
