You can make copies of a missing part if you bought all the parts in the first place, and you have ordered the missing part but it hasn't been delivered. That exception is covered under the fair use exception, as also quoting a small piece of a work for a review or scholarly work (though the copy machine doesn't enter into that application at all).

Knowing this, what you decide to do is between you and your conscience. Do not break the rules before learning them.

(All my brass quintet library is original. Too bad I'm not at the moment in a quintet to make use of it!)
