check in the archives for any posts about a product called the adjustable gap receiver. It basically is an adjustable mouthpiece receiver which allows you to do just what you are talking about. I have never used one and do not remember the explanation I was given. But supposedly by adjusting the distance from the end of your mouthpiece to the beginning of your leadpipe you can change the attack and response of the horn. Perhaps soemone else out there has one on their horn. ken k
