I have played on a Kalison D.S. for four years now, and really enjoy the horn. It is a very good all-around horn, and I use it both small (5 piece German band) and large (90 memeber symphonic band) settings. The overall scale on the horn is very good, although the upper registers may require some work to get into tune (above the staff). The price is very good, and the horn plays as well or better than horns costing $2-3K more.

The valves are generally very good, and the action is clean and slurring is easy. The valves however, have very tight tolerances and must be kept very clean. The action on the fifth valve, however, does leave something to be desired (this seems to be a common trait in fifth valves). The tonality of the horn is excellent, and I have recieved nothing but compliments on the sound.
