But remember horn and trumpet players play horns in different pitches becauuse they are presented with music transposed by different amounts. Tuba parts aren't transposed so the fingers have to work differently for the different key of horns. I expect trumpet parts are transposed for different instruments because the composers either desired a different sound on the open notes or else local tradition used those keys. Few tuba parts suggest the key of tuba the part was written for.
