I would suggest holding on to the Daryl Smith until you've been at school for a little while. That way, you can see what you can and cannot do with your current horn, and then make a choice based on that. You may find the Kalison does well, or you may find it falls short. Also, there will probably be other students at your school with a variety of instruments that would give you an idea of what each instrument is like. I'm sure some of them would also let you try their horns. The worst thing you could do is buy a new horn, only to arrive at school and find that it is no longer your first choice. Make sure to consult with your new teacher for advice also. He or she may know of a good used tuba, or may be able to get you a deal that you might not normally be able to get on your own.
