Karl Zeiss was a "stencil" brand. A U.S. importer contracted with
various manufacturers to build horns for them. This is a very old
practice that continues to this day. A modern example is the Sanders
line carried by Custom Music. There is no Sanders factory- they have
contracts with manufacturers in China and the Czech Republic. Some
Zeiss horns were built by B&S in (then) East Germany and others were
built by Cerveny. I have never played the big Czech model, but the
4/4 B&S built BBflats and CCs were/are quite decent horns.
