The Mirafone 1290 is a great horn and probably the least expensive mentioned. It is a 4p/1r .770 bore horn, 19.5 bell. It is considerably larger than a 186 or 188 and much darker and harder to overblow. However, it is not really a 6/4, it is more of a 5/4 (even considered a 4/4 in one often quoted catalog). I love mine, but it may not be in the same league as as 15K horn. I just wish the 5th valve used Mirafone's kaiser bore .835 rotor and tubing instead of a 188 sized rotor and the same .770 tubing as the four pistons. I also shortened my fifth valve length to play c# and f# as 1-2-5 or 3-5.
