I too tried it out at the recent SERTEC and I thought the thing was effective but extremely heavy. It was in a small horn, mind you, and I still couldn't imagine holding that thing up for more than 15 minutes. I play a heavy enough horn already and can see some major physical problems resulting from what seemed like an extra 20 pounds in the bell. I, like everyone else, envy trumpet players who can practice in a slumbering baby's room. However, Silent Brass is just too heavy to be practical. I think I'll spend my $300+ dollars elsewhere.
