I tried the Silent Brass for Tuba at the recent SERTEC and I must say that I was very impressed. I played it right in the middle of the "Let's play the crap out of every excerpt" session in the exhibition room.....but when is it not, right?!
I came back later when the crowd thinned out and got a better feel for it. The intonation and response was incredible. And yes, we did change the headphones and that helped. And I was playing on a new YCB-822.....not my favorite CC, but certainly not my least favorite.
The Yamaha Rep quoted me at $499 for the system. I heard somewhere that Osmun was taking orders. I could be wrong though. Their link is on Sean's handy little "Music Shops and Org's" link.
