Jacob, don't be afraid of a little work. If you want to play trumpet then learn trumpet. Forget about the shortcuts. Reading and playing Bb trumpet isn't any harder than switching from BBb to F or Eb tuba. You'll be a lot happier with yourself if you learn to do it right.
