My opinion is that the Dillon would sound VERY alright on a 4/4. This may vary with you and your horn, but for me, I discovered the M1C at the Ft. Myer conference and went around the vendor room (with Matt's OK) and each mpc vendor agreed this piece worked the best for me and my Mirafone 188 (large 4/4) even against their OWN mpc's. This mpc opened up the horn with a more pronounced fundamental and all the rest of the sound right along with it. Everything flows much easier now, also. Practicing can be much more fun with the right stuff.
