Before I started changing mouthpieces I would look toward exercises that improve your upper register. The only time I change mouthpieces is on my F where I need to change to a Schilke 62 for intonation purposes. On my large horns I can easily hit a C over middle C and on a good day, an octave above that (though it tends to sound like a bluejay breaking wind in an empty silo).

There are no limits on how high you can play on any given mouthpiece - range exists with the player. If you are looking for a quick fix then a mouthpiece change may suffice - but for long term improvement I would humbly suggest a bit more work in that register.

Just my thoughts, strange though they may be.

Roger
