well, Fred's was made by Robb Stewart who is near Los Angeles, CA. I'm not sure how much they run, tho they're not cheap because a special two-way spring has to be made (this spring allows the tuning slide to be pulled either sharp or flat then it returns to its original position). I'd ask your repairman how much it might run, tho you don't want to go cheap on this kind of job. Make sure the person who you hire to do it really knows what s/he is doing.
