I thought that this modification was the opposite in that the 1st valve slide was narrower on the new ones giving a little longer slide travel to bring the Bb in the staff as well as the A below that in tune with a slide pull. The G at the top of the staff should be in tune with the 1st valve slide in. Does anyone have a photo of the newest 181's that they could post showing the 1st valve slide assembly?
