Just a couple of quick clarifications. The orchestra of the Vienna State Opera is the Vienna Philharmonic. Everyone who joins has to do their time in the pit. Ozawa is the current music director of the Vienna State Opera and has conducted the Vienna Philharmonic many times. Another interesting thing about the Vienna Phil is that they are a private organisation and pick the conductors they want to work with every year. Must be nice! John
