I think the 2155 is quite the anomaly of the tuba world. Not very many exist. Sounds and plays like most Alex's, but looks like a blown-up MW 37. The comments regarding these horns seems to be consistent with Alexander comments. Once again, however, a try before you buy situation. The other issue with this horn is that it came out during the demise of rotary valved instruments popularity wise. I remeber the old TUBA journal adds with this horn and the 2145 (piston) being advertised at the same time.
I would be interested to see if anything from this horn carried over to the new 2155.
At the price on that site, this is a very good price for a big 4/4 CC. And even if it does have "wierd" intonation problems, they could easily be fixed with a rod going to the main slide.
I wish I was in the market, as I would be very interested in this particualr model.
