The rim on my Helleberg is completely flat, with an extremely sharp lip. I much prefer Doug's rim selections. That's one of the main reasons I originally started using his stuff.
Sometimes, if my chops feel like they're stiffening up, I will use a bigger rim for a while; I find that this relaxes my face.
