Well, I bought a mike preamp from The Sound Professionals, and am still waiting to get it. On their website it says it will stop distortion ( brickwalling ) on the recorder. I have the 'ol model MZ-R70, and the only complaint I have with it is it's lack of low-sensitivity recording. The mike preamp I bought was recommended for my model, as well as other models, and it better the hell do the job of reducing the distortion for the money I shelled out for it....
