Check this link out. Also the last brasswind catalog listed a 2265 a new version of the 2165. Three guesses as to who is helping in that design.
This leads me to believe that Mr. Deck is still playing in some capacity.
Regardless, my original point is/was that the best musician will win the audition. Equipment is a much smaller factor in the equation than anything that the musician brings.
