FUGGEDABOUTIT if:
1) you don't have your own sound, and are trying to guess what to "sound like"
... this is because your confidence about your playing surely will affect your performance far more more than a "correct guess"
2) you think YOU will sound different just because you get an immense-o-fone
...because, you will still sound like you...lets say you cut your teeth in the practice room on a 186, and your friend cut theirs on say, something like a 2145....if you both were to play the same Nirschl, your sounds will be as different as can be. In fact, if you two have equal facility on your respective instruments, and go behind the screen and take turns playing the SAME big horn (like a Nirschl) --- I'd bet two bucks that the majority of readers here, if they were out in the hall listening, would be utterly convinced they were hearing different horns being played!
