When Roger said "nickel", although I'm not speaking for him, I'm sure he was refering to nickel silver AKA german silver, etc. With most folks in the biz the "silver" in "nickel silver" (of which I believe that there is none of in "nickel silver") is assumed. So....when I say to some one like Roger "Did you see that nickel Alex, it was beautiful", he knows precisely what I meant.
