I was supposed to go to Fort Jackson, SC. The day I left for Basic an administrative Sergeant asked me where I wanted to go. I told him I had already exercised my "station of choice" option for Fort Jackson. He said that wasn't one of my choices. I ended up iin the Northwest and don't regret it but at the time I was strongly considering walking out of the building and going home.

Moral of the story: "Station of Choice" in an enlsitment contract means choice of what's available. Later a recruiter told me that if you get station of choice and have the staion listed on your enlistment contract that you're safe.

If any of you are considering enlisting feel free to email me.
Another point: The longer you hold out the more goodies you can get from a recruiter (better station. . .). They're under a lot of pressure "to get people into boots."
