There are two large "marchin" h.s.'s here that use Yamaha 201M convertable tubas...
...spend a fortune (strong $XXX,XXX marchin' budgets) each year on "marchin" and tend to learn a very limited amount of concert band - mostly by rote (a few Christmas tunes, and enough concert music for a spring concert, from which their "contest" music is derived.
The convertable 201M's are torn up each year, and end up missing a bunch of expensive parts...and they sound like...
...201M's.
