What I meant that so many people are tied to the Internet here, both philosophically and commercially, that they don't demand brick and morter stores. Thus, brick and mortar stores wither or are never opened in the first place. For example, there is not one really good camera store in the area, though there are a few that are doing their best. Most folks around here think to buy off the net first, instead of resorting to it in the absence of alternatives as I have. Thus, record stores only cater to those without credit cards or those who buy mostly on impulse, neither of which really apply to classical-music aficionados.
